Dr. Leslie Mendoza Temple, Director of Integrative Medicine advising a patient

During and after completing their oncology treatments, many patients look for ways to do something more to stay healthy and continue to fight their illness.  NorthShore University HealthSystem’s (NorthShore) well-established program in Integrative Medicine—acupuncture, massage therapy, stress reduction, guided imagery, laughter Yoga, nutrition/supplements advice—combined with conventional Western medicine has been shown to be very effective at significantly improving the quality of life for people diagnosed with cancer.

Integrative Medicine helps relieve the physical and emotional burdens of cancer and the side effects of conventional medical treatment, while encouraging the body’s healthy functions and wellness.  NorthShore is a member of the Consortium of Academic Health Centers for Integrative Medicine.
