Nutritional Counseling

Eat Smarter.  Be Healthier.  Manage Weight.  Live Longer.

Food as medicine is ancient and time tested. However, it requires personalization to be truly effective.  Not all food is medicine to all people. Celiac disease, food allergies or intolerances, and chronic diseases of many types can make eating challenging, if not life-threatening. No two diets are the same, just as no two people are the same.

Working with a registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN) can help you better understand your needs in a world filled with constant and often conflicting nutritional messaging. At NorthShore, our RDNs can help to customize and tailor dietary strategies to meet your specific needs. These professionals provide ongoing support and education to assist you in making the lifestyle and diet changes that will help you achieve optimal nutrition.

During your first nutritional counseling visit, the RDN will take a thorough history, assess your current health concerns and risks, and recommend diet approaches that are realistic and healthy. Our nutritionists provide follow-up visits and ongoing support to help patients achieve real results and acquire the confidence to build health through food.

Our dietitian appointments run for 45 to 60 minutes to allow ample time for education and questions.
