Nutrition Counseling
If we could give every individual the right amount of nourishment and exercise, not too little and not too much, we would have found the safest way to health ~ Hippocrates
What Is It?
We believe good nutrition can be both practical and delicious. We design an individualized program that fits each person's health, behavior and physical needs. Personal consultations with a nutritionist can include:
- Evaluation of current diet
- Recommendations based on individual eating style
- Education on how food affects wellness, energy and mental clarity
- Cooking demonstrations
- Home kitchen visits
- Accompanied grocery store trips
Who Benefits?
Many patients use nutritional counseling for:
- Weight loss or weight gain
- Reducing risk for conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, coronary artery disease
- Managing chronic conditions such as arthritis, multiple sclerosis, chronic fatigue, cancer
- Increasing overall health, vitality and clarity of mind
Attending to one's nutritional intake can dramatically benefit energy, clarity and physical strength, as well as improve symptoms of chronic diseases. We work one-on-one with each patient to design a diet the patient can live with, comply with-and enjoy.
Addressing a person's style of eating can be an additional tool for managing chronic illness. For example, studies have shown that patients with rheumatoid arthritis have experienced reduced symptomology on a low-protein diet. Many other chronic conditions also benefit from a nutritional approach. The proper diet can increase strength, improve quality of life and often lessen symptoms.
