Abnormal uterine bleeding is a type of irregular bleeding from the uterus. For example, your periods may be less than 21 days or more than 35 days apart. They may last longer than 7 days, or they may be very heavy. Abnormal uterine bleeding has also been called dysfunctional uterine bleeding (DUB). This type of bleeding isn't serious, but it can be annoying and can disrupt your life.
