Myra Rubenstein Weis Benefit Committee

Eileen Rubenstein Goldstein and Paul D. Goldstein, MD

Eileen Rubenstein Goldstein and Paul D. Goldstein, MD, Founders of the Myra Rubenstein Weis Health Resource Center.

Family and friends of Myra Rubenstein Weis honor her life by supporting wellness and cancer survivorship programs at NorthShore University HealthSystem (NorthShore).

Myra Rubenstein Weis was actively involved in the Highland Park community. After being diagnosed with breast cancer, she lived for 10 years before the disease claimed her life in 1990.  Her sister, Eileen Rubenstein Goldstein, and her brother-in-law, Paul D. Goldstein, MD, continue to honor Myra's life and her upbeat spirit by hosting an annual spring benefit luncheon with a group of dedicated volunteers and friends who plan the event.

The record-breaking 15th Annual MRW Benefit Luncheon was held on Wednesday, May 4, 2011, at the Highland Park Country Club. The Luncheon honored Leon Dragon, MD, and featured vocalist Charlene Brooks.

Save the Date for the 16th Annual Luncheon: May 2, 2012
The 2012 Luncheon will honor David P. Winchester, MD, and will feature California's leading lifestyle expert Dann Foley.

Carol Rosenberg, MD, Eileen Rubenstein Goldstein and Paul D. Goldstein talk about the Living in the Future (LIFE) Cancer Survivorship Program.

Since 2006, the Benefit has funded the Living in the Future (LIFE) Cancer Survivorship Program, including sponsorship of the Myra Rubenstein Weis Cancer Survivorship Seminars. The free educational lectures are open to the public and include topics of importance to cancer survivors, including nutrition, exercise and genetics.

Funds raised from the Luncheon continue to support the LIFE Program and the Myra Rubenstein Weis Health Resource Center, which is dedicated to promoting health education and awareness to the communities served by Highland Park Hospital and NorthShore.

To learn more about the Myra Rubenstein Weis Health Resource Center, including volunteer opportunities or benefit luncheon information, call 847.926.5003 or give online.
