John Chamness, LTM, NCTMB

Since 1993 John has been applying the principles of Massage Therapy across a diverse population.  Every session is created to fit the client's needs at that moment, and applied with a heart-centered touch.  To do this, John draws upon the comforting techniques of classic Swedish massage, the structural knowledge and specific deep release techniques of Neuromuscular Therapy, the rehabilitative techniques of Soft Tissue Release and Active Isolated stretching, and the subtle elemental work of the Hawaiian culture.  The results can be powerful changes in the biochemistry of the body that facilitate healing and optimal function.

John's experience allows him to work comfortably with a wide range of people, from the very seriously ill to the perfectly healthy.  He is especially adept at working with head and neck discomfort.  Trained as a teacher and a vocalist, John now holds a license in the state of Illinois as a Massage Therapist and a National Certification in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork.  He is also a Certified Laughter Leader, and a Certified Laughter Yoga Leader.  John takes special joy in his two daughters.

Earon is a graduate of the Chicago School of Massage Therapy, and is licensed and certified in massage and bodywork. He is also a Reiki Master and continues to study and apply a number of Eastern and Western spiritual and healing traditions as well as inter-spirituality, the common core of kindness and faith found in all mystical traditions.  Earon is a faculty member at the Kaplan University School of Health Sciences, teaching Complementary and Alternative Medicine for their B.S. degree program in Health and Wellness.

Before his massage career, Earon earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of Illinois-Chicago, a Master of Public Health from UCLA and a law degree from Washington University in St. Louis. He had a distinguished career in environmental health law, as an advocate, writer, consultant and nonprofit counsel before becoming a stay-at-home father and then beginning a career in integrative bodywork. In his spare time, Earon finds great joy spending time with his three adult sons. He enjoys volunteer work, drum circles, singing and chanting, new cultural experiences, Ethiopian and Middle Eastern food, and teaching the didgeridoo.

Earon's bodywork is intuitive, empathic and integrative. He combines gentle but (when appropriate) deep pressure-point work with neuromuscular techniques and flowing Swedish work, as well as techniques from myofascial, tui-na, energy work and other approaches. Earon uses breath work and guided imagery in his practice and wants his clients to know that he is deeply grateful to be able to support their healing process through respectful work with body, mind, spirit and emotions. As Carl Jung wrote, "Often the hands will solve a mystery that the intellecthas struggled with in vain."
