Research & Clinical Trials

Research provides access to the latest treatments

More than 40 percent of us will develop cancer in our lifetime and more than 20 percent of us will die from it. NorthShore University HealthSystem's cancer researchers make inroads each day to identify cancers at their earliest stages and to prevent cancer in those found to be genetically susceptible. Translational research being carried out at NorthShore University HealthSystem's Research Institute ensures that the most promising breakthroughs in the lab are translated into clinical studies that may provide immediate benefit for patients.

Clinical trials offered by our physician-researchers allow patients to benefit from new diagnostic tools and new therapies that may identify cancers earlier, prevent recurrence or minimize side effects. For those with advanced cancers, clinical trials may provide a ray of hope when no other treatment options exist.
