The treatment of brain tumors varies by tumor type. Treatments may include surgery to remove all or the majority of the tumor; radiation therapy, to complete the local control of the primary brain tumor; and chemotherapy may be suitable for additional treatment. A minimally invasive shaped beam surgery called stereotactic radiosurgery may be a treatment option. How well a patient responds to treatment is affected by age, location of the tumor, grade of the tumor cells, and the amount of tumor that was removed during surgery. Our neuro-oncology team works with each patient to identify the most appropriate treatment for his or her disease.
