Dr. Robert McMillan is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in total joint replacements of the hip and knee. He also provides general orthopaedic and trauma care. He has enjoyed teaching orthopaedic trainees and medical students his entire career.
Dr. McMillan feels being a physician gives him the privilege and opportunity to significantly help people. His orthopaedic career allows him to restore function and to return patients to a better, higher quality of life. In general, Dr. McMillan prefers non-surgical techniques so long as they effectively solve the patient’s problem.
In providing care, Dr. McMillan treats patients with empathy and understanding. He seeks to enhance the body’s own natural healing powers with a combination of conservative surgical and non-surgical treatments. His goal is to alleviate pain and restore function.
He enjoys golf, paddle tennis and fly fishing. These activities give Dr. McMillan added appreciation of the importance of healthy joints and helps fuel his determination to improve his patients’ conditions.
