Treatment Philosophy
I am an anatomic pathologist with specialty interest in cytopathology, serving as Medical Director of Cytology. My interests include optimizing diagnostic yield from small specimens by thoughtful application of immunohistochemistry and other ancillary studies, as well as preserving material in some cases for molecular studies of prognostic and therapeutic significance. Deep tissue samples and superficial fine needle aspirations, such as thyroid nodules, are common specimens. I also am interested in surgical pathology, particularly in the areas of gynecologic pathology, breast pathology, genitourinary pathology and gastrointestinal pathology. I believe that integration of histologic and cytologic approaches yields the most accurate diagnoses.
