Project data indicates that many patients do not open lab results they receive through NorthShoreConnect, despite this being a major benefit of the web-based patient/physician communication portal.
Race/ethnicity and insurance type were the most significant factors for not opening lab results.
No relationship was found between not opening the communication and the type of test performed or whether the results were normal or abnormal.
The goal was to assess how frequently patients open NorthShoreConnect to learn the results of their lab tests.
A total of 20,791 patient cases were analyzed through the use of the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW).
