Conferences and Special Educational Experiences
Grand Rounds at Evanston Hospital
Grand Rounds are held weekly on Fridays at Evanston Hospital and include a monthly morbidity and mortality conference. Speakers include nationally renowned experts in their field and cover current topics in internal medicine. Grand Rounds are teleconferenced live to Glenbrook Hospital weekly.
Resident morning report is held four mornings each week for all second and third-year trainees. Topics vary and include ECG conference, Nephrology conference and Ethics morning report. Journal Clubs are held several times a month at each of our hospital sites.
Morning report at Evanston Hospital
Intern morning report is held once each week and consists of case based presentations attended by the Program Director, chief residents and subspecialists.
Intern core curriculum conference is a lecture series that is held during the first half of the year geared specifically towards first-year trainees. This conference emphasizes patient assessment and management skills.
Noon conference is held Tuesday through Thursday at Evanston Hospital and teleconferenced live to Glenbrook Hospital. These lectures encompass all topics pertinent to your residency training and are presented by our teaching faculty and division chiefs.
Outpatient Curriculum which meets each Friday, is an interactive conference where Program Directors and Chief Residents review pertinent outpatient topics.
A variety of other conferences are available and include a Business of Medicine series, subspecialty conferences and combined conferences such as hematology/pathology, infectious diseases/microbiology and radiology/gastroenterology.
