Lynn Boecler is Senior Director of Pharmacy Services at Evanston Hospital. She has been at NorthShore since 1995. She is currently responsible for the services and operations of the pharmacy departments at Evanston and Skokie Hospitals. She is also responsible for corporate-wide services including our Medication Safety Program and Pharmacy Informatics. She earned her Pharm.D. from the University of Illinois and completed her Administrative Specialty Residency and Masters Degree in Hospital Pharmacy Administration at the University of Wisconsin. She has past experience as a staff pharmacist, clinical pharmacist, Residency Program Director, Assistant Director and Director of Clinical Pharmacy Services. She is the Residency Program Director for the Pharmacy Informatics PGY2.
George Carro is the Senior Director of Oncology Pharmacy Services and the Director of Oncology Research at NorthShore University HelathSystem. He oversees all aspects of the oncology pharmacy services, and oncology research operations across all 3 NorthShore sites. He started the oncology residency program at Evanston Hospital and is the program director. George attended the University Of Illinois College Of Pharmacy, received an MS from DePaul University, and is a Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist (BCOP). He is also involved in oncology research and has served as the Eastern Coopertive Oncology Group Pharmacy Chair for several years. George is passionate about providing proper pain management and antiemetic therapy in cancer patients.
Carol Heunisch is a Pharmacy Manager at Skokie Hospital and provides clinical services for multiple patient care areas. She is responsible for all aspects of pharmacy operations at Skokie Hospital, and has corporate responsibility for clinical and anticoagulation services. Additionally, she serves as coordinator of the Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee. She is the preceptor for the drug information/drug policy longitudinal rotation. Carol received her BS and PharmD from the University of Illinois and is a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS).
Karen Kelly is a Pharmacy Manager at Evanston Hospital and provides services for pediatrics, neonatology, women's health, intensive care, post-surgical, rehabilitation, emergency services, dialysis, radiology and the gastrointestinal lab. She is responsible for maintaining and implementing clinical pharmacy services as well as performance improvement in those areas. She is the residency and student coordinator for Evanston Hospital, the residency preceptor for the elective Obstetrics rotation and an associate preceptor for the resident elective Neonatal rotation. She received both her B.S. and Pharm.D. from the Chicago College of Pharmacy at Midwestern University in Downers Grove, IL.
Stan Kent is the Assistant Vice President for Pharmacy Services. He has been responsible for all pharmacy services at NorthShore since 1993. He received his BS in Pharmacy from SUNY at Buffalo; MS in Hospital Pharmacy from the University of Wisconsin; and completed a pharmacy residency at the University of Wisconsin Hospital. He has worked as a Clinical Pharmacist, Clinical Coordinator, Assistant Director of Pharmacy and Director of Pharmacy. He started the residency program at Evanston Hospital in 1995. He served as president of ASHP from 2011-2012. He is the Residency Program Director for the PGY2 Health System Pharmacy Administration Residency. His interests are pharmacy administration, leadership development, and residency training.
Kristi Killelea is a Clinical Manager at Evanston Hospital. She provides clinical services for the general medicine, oncology, cardiology, palliative care and psychiatric units. She is responsible for maintaining and implementing clinical pharmacy services as well as performance improvement in those areas. In addition, Kristi manages the clinical pharmacy technician program. She received her Pharm.D. from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, and completed a Pharmacy Practice Residency at Aurora Health Care in Milwaukee. Kristi is a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS).
Amber Meigs is the Medication Safety Officer for NorthShore. She is responsible for ensuring patient safety through monitoring of adverse drug event trends, implementing performance improvement, and optimizing patient outcomes. She received a Pharm.D. from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa and completed a pharmacy practice residency at Evanston Hospital. She is a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS). Her clinical interests are in neonatology and women’s health.
Peter Mui is the Pharmacy Manager at Highland Park Hospital. He earned his PharmD from the University of Illinois and completed his Masters Degree in Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy at the University of Florida. His responsibilities include distributive and clinical pharmacy services and pharmacy representation for various multidisciplinary committees.
Bharat Patel is a Clinical Manager at Highland Park Hospital. He provides clinical services for the general medicine, dialysis, critical care, and transitional care units. He is responsible for maintaining and implementing clinical pharmacy services as well as performance improvement in those areas. Bharat is the primary preceptors for the hospital rotation at Highland Park Hospital. Bharat received his BS from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, and is completing his Pharm D from the University of Florida. His interests are nephrology, nutrition, and pharmacy operations.
Hina Patel is a Pharmacy Manager at Skokie Hospital. She provides clinical services for various patient care areas, with special interests in critical care, emergent care, surgical/interventional services, and anticoagulation. She serves as one of the critical care preceptors. Hina received her Pharm.D. from the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Pharmacy and is a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS).
Jeff Thiel is Senior Manager of Pharmacy Services at Evanston Hospital. He is responsible for operations in the central pharmacy, operating room satellite pharmacy, and outpatient pharmacy at Evanston Hospital. He is also responsible for corporate-wide services including our automated medication storage and distribution technology, barcode medication administration, and regulatory affairs. He earned his PharmD from Purdue University and completed his Administrative Specialty Residency and Masters Degree in Health-System Pharmacy Administration at The Ohio State University.
George Vass is the Pharmacy Manager at Glenbrook Hospital. His current focus is in pharmacy operations and streamlining systems through the use of technology. He has also been a clinical pharmacist for many years prior to managing, with experience in solid organ transplant and critical care. George attended Loyola University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Master in Business Administration. He received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Illinois and finished a Pharmacy Practice Residency at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.
Izabela Wozniak is a Senior Clinical Pharmacist for cardiology and medicine pharmacy services at Evanston Hospital. Her other responsibilities include coordination of investigational drug services for the pharmacy. She is the current Vice-Chair of the NorthShore Institutional Review Board. She received her PharmD from the University of Illinois at Chicago and completed a pharmacy practice residency at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Illinois.
