As a teaching affiliate of the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, Evanston Hospital offers fully accredited training in anatomic and clinical pathology for twelve residents through the University of Chicago (NorthShore) Pathology program.  The residency emphasizes thorough training in anatomical and clinical pathology, while providing opportunity and encouragement for supervised research work within and outside the department.  All residents rotate at the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago and the Medical Examiner’s Office in Chicago.  Trainees actively participate in all departmental functions, including departmental seminars and teaching conferences as well as interdepartmental conferences.  Advanced trainees may rotate to other services and educational activities of the medical school and other institutions.  Residents also participate in some of the numerous professional activities in Chicago, such as meetings of local and national medical societies and symposia in the medical schools.
