Our Approach to Hospice Care

NorthShore’s Hospice Program is dedicated to providing the finest quality end-of-life care. The hospice team is passionate about offering compassionate and dignified care when curative treatment is no longer an option.

Hospice care does provide hope and relief as it allows patients to remain comfortable and live the end of their life to the fullest, making the most of time with family and friends.

Hospice care focuses not just on the patient, but also supports family and loved ones of the patient with care designed to address physical, emotional and spiritual needs.

Hospice is not a place, rather a concept and a way of care. Since 1979, NorthShore’s approach to hospice care has been helping patients share their final months and days with their families with peace, comfort and dignity. Hospice helps patients remain in their own homes and also provides care at NorthShore Evanston, Glenbrook, Highland Park and Skokie hospitals as well as in nursing homes and assisted living facilities.

It is both a privilege and a very humbling experience to be a part of this journey with patients and their families.
